Born on May 18, 1950, in Rural Mentor Township, MI, he was the son of Beryl and Mildred (Mitchell) Clover. James proudly served his country in the United States Army, where he honed his dedication and work ethic.

A devoted member of A.A. for 51 years, James considered his group a second family, drawing strength and support from the bonds he formed. He loved raising beef cows and found joy in the great outdoors, whether he was gardening, taking walks, sipping coffee while admiring nature, or tinkering with his Kioti tractor, and listening to the sound of bullfrogs. He had a passion for history and genealogy.

Above all, James was a family man. He took immense pride in being a father and grandfather, eagerly awaiting family reunions and treasuring every moment spent making memories with them. His humor and enthusiasm for life will be deeply missed.

James had a wealth of experience, working as a welder, heavy equipment operator, and truck driver, showcasing his versatility and skill as a jack of all trades.

He is survived by his devoted children, Jenny Clover, Moriah (Ken) Kadwell, and Mitchell (Rebecca) Clover; his beloved grandchildren Shelby Clover, Riley Clover, Daniel Clover, Ryan Kadwell, and Charley Kadwell; and his great-granddaughter Meadow Clover. He also leaves behind his brother Billy Clover.

James was preceded in death by his son James “Jimmy” Clover; his parents; and his siblings George “Butch” Clover, Juanita “Sissy” Huff, and Melvin Clover.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made in James’s honor, reflecting the love and support he offered to all who knew him.
